Phil Norton

Phil trained in both Musical and Technical Theatre and began working professionally at the age of 18. He toured the whole of the UK for 3 years performing in Classic Literature shows and Pantomime (M&M Productions) before joining the hit UK theatre tour of cult TV classic ‘Rainbow’ (JB Entertainment and Events and Brighter Productions) as a lead puppeteer. Phil continued to tour with the show in both theatres and holiday parks for a further 3 years. At the same time, Phil began working as the resident comic at the South Holland Centre, Spalding for Polka Dot Pantomimes. During this time he performed as Buttons (‘Cinderella’), Smee (‘Peter Pan’), Muddles (‘Sleeping Beauty’) and Wishee Washee (‘Aladdin’). He also appeared as Buttons in the company’s pitch on BBC’s ‘Dragon’s Den’ and tour managed their production of ‘The Jungle Book’. After four seasons in Spalding, Phil began working at the arts centres in Grantham and Stamford, also for Polka Dot. Last year he performed as Muddles (‘Sleeping Beauty’) and will this year be Simple Simon (‘Jack and the Beanstalk’) as well as directing the production. Phil is one of the youngest theatre producers in the UK and his company, Starbright Entertainments, produces children’s theatre shows, concerts and specialist ultra violet puppetry (which can often be seen with him in pantomimes). His latest production, ‘Peter Pan: the Musical’, will be touring to theatres and arts centres over Easter 2014. In his ‘spare’ time, Phil works for 3 youth theatres in the local area. He also works with schools and colleges further afield offering affordable scenery hire packages.
