An actor for 36 years Alan has performed in over 50 theatrical productions, numerous television programs, mini-series and feature films and written and performed for radio drama and comedy.
Alan has gained a reputation as a fine music theatre performer most recently performing the role of Henry Higggins in ‘My Fair Lady’ and Victor Vittorio in ‘Sweet Charity’.
He is probably best known for his portrayal as Dr Karl Kennedy in ‘Neighbours’ for the last 19 years and the show’s popularity in the United Kingdom has made Alan a household name in that country. Alan has performed in 5 pantomimes in the UK since 1999 always as the villain!
He has played Captain Hook twice, in Sheffield (Lyceum Theatre, Qdos) and Aberdeen (HMT, Qdos), Abanazar twice in Llandudno (North Wales Theatre, Qdos) and Malvern (Malvern Theatre, UK Productions) and he has also appeared as Fleshcreep in ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ in St Albans (Alban Arena, Qdos).
In 2012 -13 Alan will perform the role of the Sheriff of Nottingham in 'Robin Hood and the Babes in the Woods' at the Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks (Magic Beans Pantomimes).
It was his interest in music as a guitarist and lyricist that inspired the creation of his rock band 'Waiting Room' with friends Tommy Rando and Chris Hawker. Waiting Room released their debut album 'In the Waiting Room' in May 2005. Waiting Room have completed eight sell-out tours of the United Kingdom in the last six years and perform weekly in Melbourne.
