Robert trained at The Central School of Speech and Drama, and made his West End debut in Barnum at The London Palladium with Michael Crawford. This was followed by Fiddler On The Roof at The Apollo Victoria with Topol and the British premier of Moby Dick at The Royal Exchange, Manchester. He played the lead role of Bill Snibson in Me and My Girl for P & O cruises onboard the Canberra. TV roles include Brideshead Revisited, Coronation Street and four years of presenting BBC TV’s Playdays.
He has written extensively for BBC Radio 3, produced trade shows and training films, as well as producing and appearing in Panto here at the Princes Hall since 1994. He is well known locally as children’s entertainer ‘Mr Silly Sausage’.
